Confirmation:
Bishop
John Ford will be coming to the Sunday morning service on October
10th
at 10.30am and will be conducting a confirmation at this time. If you,
or
members of your family, would like to be confirmed please speak with
Graham.
Giving.
Nick
and Trudi gave a memorable presentation at our last all-age worship
about
forgetting to pack away Jesus when we go on holiday, and leaving him
behind. Whereas we know that when Jesus is fully integrated in our lives
and
our
planning our holidays develop a quality that would be otherwise lacking.
In
this
context, and as we maybe spend more on ourselves over the Summer,
could
we remember our giving towards the work of the Lord. Especial needs
over
this next period of time: continuing commitment to our youth ministry,
the
upgrading of the fabric in recent months - we now have safety lighting
in the
moat,
- and our forthcoming interior renovations. Matthew 6 v.33: 'But seek
first
his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you
as
well.'
If you
do pay tax please kindly consider 'gift aiding' all contributions to
enable
the
recovery of tax.

Ismay's mother passed away in the week. 'She is at peace now and we have
been
so thankful to have been able to care for her at home these last three
months. It has given her so much joy to have her family around her. She
is now

her God, who has shown her much tenderness and compassion these last

The
Baptist Centre.
The
SWBA who own the Baptist Centre have decided that it no longer fits in
with
their future strategy, and that they intend to sell it at the end of the
year
for
housing development. However in the interim they are open to alternative
offers, giving priority firstly to Baptists and Baptist congregations,
and secondly
to
other Christ-centred initiatives. This clearly might involve a local
response
from
ourselves. Pricing is in the region £100000 to £130000. (The letter
about
this
arrived the day after the PCC met. The next meeting of the Baptist
Centre
management committee is Wednesday, September 15th.)
Mothers' Union
Many

14. No

Corporate Communioin at 10 am folowed by lunch at the Drake Manor.

XStream Help Needed
Are
you aged between 18 and 80?
Do you
want our children to grow their own faith?
You
do? Brilliant! You're just who we're looking for. We need leaders to
help
run
Xstream. This is a wonderful group of about ten 7 - 10 year olds who
meet
on
alternate Sunday mornings. We can give you all the teaching materials
and
support you need - you won't be on your own.
Please
contact Mark and Rachel Perry on 859013 for more details.
